2012-13 Permission Letters
Welcome to the 2012-2013 Membership Year!
Your membership in the Northern Ice Skating Club includes membership in U.S. Figure Skating. The membership year in both organizations runs from July 1, 2012, until June 30, 2013.
Please be sure to send in your membership renewal/registration on time, so that you can compete, test and participate in all events sanctioned by U.S. Figure Skating right at the start of the year on July 1.
Changes This Year - Permission Letters
This year, we?re doing things a little differently.A
Permission Letter allows you to test/compete at another club. It?s a convenience, but NOT mandatory. If you don?t have a letter, then all you need is a Club Officer?s signature on the relevant application form. Furthermore, we prepare Permission Letters only for competitive skaters. If you are not a competitive skater but want the letter, then please let the Membership Chair know.
Most Permission Letters will be posted on the Northern Ice Skating Club web page. However, in order to guarantee that they are posted by July 1,
we must receive your registration by June 20, 2012.
If we receive your registration
after June 20, 2012, it will take up to 10 business days before we post the Permission Letter. Furthermore, if we receive it after
August 1, 2012, we may not post the Permission Letter at all.
You can print and use your Permission Letter as often as you need, until the membership year ends on June 30, 2012.
Skaters & Parents
If you were a member of Northern Ice this past year, then your renewal form is being sent to you by USPS mail. Please use that form and not the one on this web page.
If you were not a member of Northern Ice this past year,
then download a General membership form
, complete it and mail as directed.
We are a parent-run club. According to our club Bylaws, if any skater in your family is under 18 years old, then one parent/guardian membership is mandatory. It?s included free of charge, but we need the parent?s/guardian?s information on the registration form. Incomplete forms will be returned to you, thus delaying your registration.
U.S. Figure Skating increased membership dues this year, thus requiring
Northern Ice Skating Club to do the same thing. We increased only those
fees that were raised by U.S. Figure Skating.
Professionals
Professional members of Northern Ice Skating Club are coaches and choreographers.
If you were a member of Northern Ice Skating Club this past year, then your renewal form is being sent to you by USPS mail. Please use that form and not the one on this web page.
