2007-2008 POST-REGIONALS
GRANTS ANNOUNCED
We are pleased to announce our Post-Regionals grants for the 2008 US
Junior Championships. Each of the following skaters received a
grant of $900.00 as a result of their placements at
Upper Great Lakes Regionals:

NORTHERN
ICE ANNOUNCES POST-REGIONALS GRANTS
Northern Ice Skating Club is pleased to announce the awarding of $400
grants to our skaters competing beyond the Regional level.
Congratulations to Jordan Moeller who will be representing us at the
2007 US Junior Championships, and to Kristen Nardozzi, Matt Kleffman,
and Angelica Gervasio, who skated in the recent Midwestern Sectional
Championships.
CONGRATULATIONS REGIONALS SKATERS
Congratulations to our skaters who made another great showing at Upper
Great Lakes Regionals! Jordan Moeller won the silver medal
in the Juvenile Boys event and will represent Northern Ice at the 2007
U.S. Junior Championships in Cleveland, Ohio in December.
Congratulations to Jacqueline Han, who placed 13th in the final
round in the Juvenile Girls event after placing 3rd in her qualifying
group. Placing 7th in the Intermediate Ladies final round
was Jenna Reimann. Jenna placed 1st in her qualifying
group, 4th in her championship short program group, and 7th in the final
freeskate event.
Our non-qualifying skaters also received medals in two events.
Noah Shroats placed 2nd in the Open Juvenile Boys event, and
Nicholas Vrdoljak placed 3rd in Pre-Juvenile Boys.

2006 UPPER GREAT LAKES REGIONALS RECAP
Our skaters had a great showing at the 2006 Upper Great Lakes Regional Championships! Six of our skaters advanced to further levels of competition. Rachel Franzese placed 4th in Junior Ladies and will be representing Northern Ice at the 2006 Midwestern Sectional Championships in Littleton, CO, November 17-19, 2005. Five of our skaters qualified for the 2006 US Junior Figure Skating Championships, November 28-December 3, 2005. The team of Matt Kleffman and Kristen Nardozzi placed 1st in the Intermediate Dance event. Brad Kleffman placed 1st in Juvenile Boys. Two skaters qualified for the Juvenile Girls event - Samantha Cappetto, who placed 2nd, and Jenna Reimann, who placed 3rd. Congratulations!
Congratulations to Angelica Gervasio for making the final round in a highly competitive Novice Ladies event. Our non-qualifying skaters also represented us well, bringing home 6 medals in their events as follows:

SKATER PLACES FIRST AT NATIONAL SHOWCASE
Congratulations to Northern Ice member Ashley Corrigan for placing First in Preliminary Extemporaneous Improvisation at the National Showcase competition in California!
NEW DANCE TEAM
Good luck to our new dance team, Matt Kleffman and Kristen Nardozzi. They represented Northern Ice in Intermediate Dance at the Lake Placid Dance Championships in Lake Placid, New York.
IN MEMORY OF
KIRK LANGSETH
1959-2005

Northern
Ice Skating Club is proud and honored to have had Kirk Langseth as a full
member and ardent supporter of our club. He was a great friend and
mentor to Northern Ice, its' board, and all of our members. We are
truly saddened by his passing.
This past weekend, at the United States Figure Skating Governing Council
in Columbus, Ohio, Northern Ice donated $500 in Kirk's memory to the
Memorial Fund.
We will always miss our true friend and mentor, Kirk.
CONGRATULATIONS STARFIRE TEAMS! - Congratulations to the Starfire Synchronized Skating Teams for their great placements at the Foot of the Lake Synchronized Skating Classic in Fond du Lac, WI on January 8, 2005. The Youth Introductory Team placed 3rd in the Initial Round and 6th in the Championship Round. The Teen Introductory Team placed 4th (3rd place tie broken by ordinals) in the Initial Round, and 7th in the Championship Round.
JUNIOR NATIONALS RESULTS - The dance team of Matt Kleffman and Michelle Fahrforth placed 18th in the final round of the Juvenile Dance event at the 2005 U.S. Junior Figure Skating Championships. Brad Kleffman place 16th in Juvenile Boys, Group 1A. Congratulations to our Junior Nationals team!
NORTHERN ICE SKATING CLUB ANNOUNCES JUNIOR NATIONALS GRANTS - Congratulations to Michelle Fahrforth, Matt Kleffman, and Brad Kleffman for qualifying for 2005 Junior Nationals. We are pleased to be awarding grants to each of them. Michelle, a first-year member of Northern Ice, received $300. Matt and Brad each received $850. Additional photos are on the Club Pix page. FUTURE CHAMPIONS SERIES FINAL RESULTS - Congratulations to Brad Kleffman, who was the Silver Medalist in the Midwestern Juvenile Boys division of the 2003-2004 US Figure Skating Future Champions Series!

NORTHERN ICE SKATING CLUB MEMBERS QUALIFY FOR JUNIOR NATIONALS - CONGRATULATIONS to Brad Kleffman, and dance team Michelle Fahrforth and Matt Kleffman! They earned the opportunity to represent Northern Ice Skating Club at the 2005 US Junior Championships, December 1-4, 2004, in Jamestown, NY. Michelle and Matt placed First in the Juvenile Dance event at 2005 Upper Great Lakes Regionals, and Brad placed Second in the Juvenile Boys event.
DANCE TEAM TO REPRESENT NORTHERN ICE - We are pleased to announce that a new ice dance team will be representing Northern Ice Skating Club. Michelle Fahrforth and Matt Kleffman are both 13 years old and they will be skating at the Juvenile level. They train at Center Ice in Glen Ellyn and are coached by Penny Knuth and Oleg Epstein.
CONGRATULATIONS to Michael Franzese for placing 9th in Juvenile Boys at the 2004 U.S. Junior Championships. Michael earned the opportunity to represent Northern Ice Skating Club at Junior Nationals by placing First in Juvenile Boys at the 2004 Upper Great Lakes Regional Championships in October, 2003. Junior Nationals were hosted by the Coyotes Skating Club of Arizona and were held December 2-6, 2003.
CONGRATULATIONS to Angelica Gervasio, who placed first in the Midwestern Section of the 2002-2003 Jackson Ultima Future Champions Series in the Juvenile Girls division. She earned this honor by receiving the highest point total based on her placements in designated USFSA Future Champions Series events during the 2002-2003 season.
